Hes really taught me how to be a better human being throughout this process. Hes just so grounded and generous and grateful he emanates the word gratitude, the actress told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesdays Access Hollywood Live. Hes awesome and hes so down to earth that there was no intimidation factor. The young star said her The Descendants family has been very supportive during her rise to big screen stardom. [George and director Alexander Payne] have all been such great mentors and kind of guiding me through this process, the 20-year-old, best known for her role on ABC Familys The Secret Life of the American Teenager, continued. With the accolades already rolling in the actress was just awarded the National Board Of Reviews Best Supporting Actress award Shailene is still taking in all the excitement. Its crazy, its surreal, for sure I just feel so grateful, she told Billy and Kit about the buzz for her performance, which also includes rumblings of an Oscar nomination. And though the star is the talk of Hollywood, the actress said she would really rather prefer to spend her time outside of the limelight.
